Karma was born in Trongsa, in central Bhutan, and pursued his studies in Bhutan, India, and the United States, giving him a broad understanding of local and global perspectives. Combining his passion for the outdoors with his expertise in management, he develops adventure programs designed to help travelers make the most of their time in the Kingdom. Whenever possible, he personally leads expeditions and conducts on-the-ground research to ensure the highest quality experiences.

Currently serving as the President of Yangphel, Karma has previously represented Bhutan as the Vice President of the SAARC Chamber of Commerce & Industry. He also held key positions such as President of the Association of Bhutanese Tour Operators (ABTO), Board Director of Drukair (Royal Bhutan Airlines), Tourism Council of Bhutan (TCB), Bhutan Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI), and Druk Holding & Investments. In addition, he is a dedicated Board Director of the Youth Development Organization, as well as the Chairman of Bhutan Insurance Limited and Ice Beverages Private Limited.

Karma also serves as the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria to the Kingdom of Bhutan.
