Arrival in Paro Bhutan and journey to Thimphu – the capital city

Arrival in Paro & Transfer to Thimphu (7,700 ft / 2,334 m)
Scenic arrival into Bhutan with sweeping views of the Himalayas, including Mount Everest, Kanchenjunga, and Bhutan’s sacred peaks—Jomolhari (7,326 m / 24,035 ft) and Gangkar Puensum (7,570 m / 24,836 ft, the world’s highest unclimbed peak).
Warm welcome by your compassionate Yangphel guide and driver.
Leisurely drive (55 km / 34 miles, ~1.5 hrs) to Thimphu, Bhutan’s charming capital. Sightseeing depending on time or at liesure.

DAY 2
Explore Thimphu

Thimphu: Cultural Immersion
Explore highlights: National Memorial Chorten, Folk Heritage Museum, Takin Preserve, Buddha Dordenma (world’s largest seated Buddha). Chari Monastery with picnic lunch and an immersive experience with the students of Choki Traditional Arts School.
Urban experience with locals, visit Thimphu’s most popular Changyul Park after visiting the Farmers Market and Takin reserve.

DAY 3
Punakha – the Ancient capital of Bhutan

Thimphu to Punakha via Dochula Pass (10,300 ft / 3,140 m)
Scenic drive (85 km / 53 miles, ~3 hrs) across Dochula Pass with 108 chortens and panoramic Himalayan views.
Descend into subtropical Punakha Valley (4,265 ft / 1,300 m).
Visit Punakha Dzong, Bhutan’s most beautiful fortress, at the confluence of two rivers & crossing the longest suspension bridge in Bhutan with spectacular views of the river flowing down south of the Punakha Dzong.

Explore and experience Punakha valley

Punakha: Valley Exploration & Blessings

Drive (75 km / 47 miles, ~3.5 hrs) into the mystical Phobjikha Valley, winter home of the black-necked cranes.

DAY 6
Experience the Gangtey Phobjikha valley

DAY 7
Journey to Bumthang – Central Bhutan

Gangtey to Bumthang (8,530 ft / 2,600 m)
Today is one of the most Scenic drives (188 km / 117 miles, ~7 hrs) across high passes and pristine landscapes.
Arrive in Bumthang, the spiritual heartland of Bhutan.
Evening walk through Jakar town and traditional markets.
May catch a festival in the valley depending on the time.

DAY 8
Explore the Beautiful Bumthang

Bumthang: Spiritual Journeys & the Nuns Drum Ceremony to a melodious chanting
Visit Jambay Lhakhang, Kurjey Lhakhang, and Tamshing Monastery, sacred sites linked to Guru Rinpoche.
Join a prayer ceremony alongside nuns in a nunnery – chanting with drums
A bit of adventure today – hike the Bushman’s trail for about 3 hours

DAY 9
Domestic flight to Paro

Bumthang to Paro (Domestic Flight)
Morning domestic flight from Bumthang to Paro (~30 mins). A scenic flight with views of the Eastern Himalayan snow peaks including the Gangkar Puensum – the highest unclimbed peak in the world. A rare sight to behold.
Afternoon visit to National Museum (Ta Dzong) and Paro Dzong and the cantilevered covered bridge.
Evening leisure at Zhiwaling Heritage, the only Bhutanese-owned luxury heritage hotel.

DAY 10
Excursion of the much awaited hike to the Tigers Nest “Taktsang”

Paro: Hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest, 10,240 ft / 3,120 m)
Signature hike to the Taktsang Monastery, perched on a cliffside. (4–5 hrs round trip, ~5 km / 3.1 miles).
Reflective meditation at the sacred site.
